Cochrane people working on injury

Editorial Base
There are three review groups that produce Cochrane reviews related to injury.  The groups and their scope are:

  • The Injuries Review Group: prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of traumatic injury, including the emergency resuscitation of seriously injured and burned patients. Poisoning, excluding envenomation, is also included within the scope.
  • The Musculoskeletal Injuries Review Group: 1) primary and secondary prevention of fractures, dislocations, and soft tissue injuries of the appendicular skeleton and associated soft tissues, and the prevention of complications or adverse effects of treatment and 2) treatment and rehabilitation of patients with fractures, dislocations, and soft tissue injuries of the appendicular skeleton and associated soft tissues.
  • The Wounds Group: prevention and treatment of wounds and their complications.

Injuries Review Group
The editorial base for the Injuries Review Group is located at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, UK. They are supported by the National Health Service Research & Development Programme UK, the World Health Organisation Switzerland and the Medical Research Council UK. 
 

 

Musculoskeletal Injuries Review Group

The editorial base for the Musculoskeletal Injuries Review Group is located at University of Teesside, Middlesbrough, UK.  The review group receives support from the Chief Scientist Office, Department of Health - The Scottish Office UK, the New Zealand Medical Education Trust and the Health Research Council New Zealand. The group also receives support from the University of Otago, New Zealand. 

 

Wounds Review Group

The editorial base for the Wounds Review Group is located at the University of York, UK.  The review group receives support from the National Health Service Research and Development Programme UK.
