Editorial Base
There are fifteen review groups that produce Cochrane reviews on the prevention and treatment of cancer.  Their activities are supported and coordinated by the Cochrane Cancer Network.  The groups that produce reviews on National Health Priority Cancers are the:

• Gynaecological Cancer Group
• Haematological Malignancies Group

Breast Review Group

The international editorial base for the Breast Cancer Group is located at University of Sydney, Australia. The review group supports Cochrane activities and review in breast cancer globally and receives support from:

• Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing
• Australian New Zealand Breast Cancer Trials Group
• Breast Cancer Institute of Australia
• NSW Breast Cancer Institute, Australia
• US Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity

Colorectal Cancer Review Group

The editorial base for the Colorectal Cancer Review Group is located at the Copenhagen Hospital, Denmark. The review group receives support from a number of Danish government, commercial and not-for-profit of sources. 

 

The Gynaecological Cancer Review Group

The editorial base for the Gynaecological Cancer Review Group is located at Institute of Health Sciences, Oxford, UK. The review group receives support from the National Health Service R&D Programme, England UK. 

 

The Haematological Malignancies Review Group

The editorial base for the Haematological Review Group is located at Universität zu Köln, Germany. The review group receives support from Klinik I für Innere Medizin, Universität zu Köln, Germany. 

 

The Lung Cancer Review Group

The editorial base for the Lung Cancer Review Group is located at Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau, Barcelona, Spain. The review group receives support from Instituto de Carlos III. Fondo de Investigaciones Sanitarias, Spain.

 

The Pain, Palliative Care and Supportive Care Review Group

The editorial base for the Pain, Palliative Care and Supportive Care Review Group is located at the Pain Research Unit, Churchill Hospital, Oxford, UK. The review group  receives support from the Saltonstall Foundation USA, the International Headache Society USA, the Evenor Armington Fund USA and the National Health Service Research and Development Programme UK. 

 

The Prostatic Diseases and Urological Cancer Review Group

The editorial base for the Prostate Diseases and Urological Cancer Review Group is located at Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Minnesota, USA.

 

The Skin Review Group

The editorial base for the Skin Review Group is located at Queen's Medical Centre, Nottingham, UK. The review group  receives support from the National Health Service Research and Development Programme UK, the National Health Service Wales Office of Research & Development and the British Association of Dermatologists UK. 

 

Australia's contribution 

• The international editorial base for the Breast Cancer Review Group is based at the University of Sydney Australia. 
• The Breast Cancer Group coordinating editors and the review group coordinator are both Australian.
• There are four other Australians on the breast cancer editorial team including two editors and the trial search coordinator
• The Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing provide funding for the Breast Cancer editorial base.
