Simon French has been affiliated with the Institute of Health Services Research at Monash University since early 2003, first with the Centre for Clinical Effectiveness and subsequently as a research officer and lecturer with the Australasian Cochrane Centre. Simon has previously worked at the Australasian Cochrane Centre on the Policy Liaison Initiative and also on a research project that examined the process of updating Cochrane systematic reviews.
Simon holds a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology from Monash University
in addition to his clinical qualifications in chiropractic. He was awarded his PhD in May 2009. Simon's PhD project was part of an NHMRC-funded IMPLEMENT Project at the Centre that developed and evaluated a strategy to implement an evidence-based clinical practice guideline for the management of acute low-back pain into general practice. He also works as a NHMRC Research Fellow at the Primary Care Research Unit (http://www.gp.unimelb.edu.au/pcru/) at the University of Melbourne.
Simon is a review author with the Cochrane Back Review Group and the Cochrane Effective Practice and Organisation of Care (EPOC) Group. He is also an associate editor of the open access BioMed Central journal Chiropractic and Osteopathy.
